To reveal the misunderstanding of purchasing woolen quilt

Discover the mistake of purchasing woolen quilt

Myth 1: wool quilt can only be covered in winter?

Wool has a good thermal performance because it has the dual effect of moisture absorption and perspiration. The same reason that the cotton quilt is used to keep the popsicle from melting is that the wool quilt is also suitable for covering in summer. The difference is that in summer, the wool quilt is lighter and thinner, and the weight should be less than 1kg; there are also special treatments on the material to make it suitable for cool wool quilt used in air-conditioned rooms in summer.

Myth 2: is China's wool not as good as Australia's?

Australian wool is produced from Merino sheep, which is famous for its softness and fineness. However, most domestic enterprises now purchase materials for wool products from Australia, which is commonly known as Australian wool, and then process them in China. Even for domestic wool, as long as it is produced by large enterprises and passed the national inspection, especially the products with the logo of international wool Bureau, the processing technology and quality are trustworthy.

Myth 3: can you take care of it only by sunlight?

The advantage of a woolen quilt that can be treated only by sunlight is convenience. However, experts suggest that if conditions permit, it is better to choose the wool that can be washed by machine. This type of wool is superior to the carbonization treatment of wool, so the wool has better elasticity and anti felting properties.

Myth 4: is the top material more comfortable?

Can wool and cashmere blend really get better warmth retention and skin friendly feeling? It's not. Because of its softness, cashmere becomes the preferred material for high-grade clothing. Because of its small fiber, it is not suitable for making wool quilt. Adding 10% or 30% cashmere to wool will not improve the thermal insulation. Because of the small size of cashmere fiber, the cover cloth of quilt needs special treatment to avoid fiber leakage, so as to reduce the comfort of skin. At the same time, it should be noted that some non-standard manufacturers use fine wool as cashmere additive, which requires extra care.

Myth 5: how about blended materials?

There are many wool quilts blended with silk, nylon and other fibers in the domestic market. Can this type of fabric and filler have the advantages of both? Experts explained that the blending of wool and natural silk has been a popular fabric trend in the world, but the technology is still in the research stage, and there is no excellent technology in China to support the emergence of reliable fabrics. Therefore, it is recommended that you choose pure wool products when purchasing in China.

Special reminder: the international wool bureau only issues pure wool mark certification products for wool quilts in China. If you encounter quilts with 50% and 30% wool marks, they must be fake.
